Jessye Norman, as she receives the prestigious Glenn Gould Prize, Canada’s most internationally significant award for artistic achievement recognizing a lifetime contribution that has enriched the human condition both through the arts and work beyond her artistry.

This extraordinary evening will bring together leading artists from around the world to sing in honour of Miss Norman celebrating her life in music, her humanitarianism and championship of Civil Rights and human dignity, poverty reduction, AIDS research, environmentalism and arts education.



The Glenn Gould Foundation is proud to partner with the Canadian Opera Company in announcing the Twelfth Glenn Gould Prize Award Ceremony and Gala Concert honouring Jessye Norman.

Glenn Gould Prize jury chair Viggo Mortensen will take part in the presentation of the Prize to Jessye Norman 

Special gala tickets are available for best seats and include a post-concert reception in the Jackman Lounge with the artists (tax receipt available to the maximum amount allowed under CRA guidelines). Sponsored boxes in the Grand Ring including champagne and hors d’oeuvres service are available. Sponsors will also receive invitations to exclusive pre- and intermission receptions.
