A Glenn Gould Summer Concert

September 9, 2011

In August 2011, Leslie and Anna Dan graciously opened their Toronto home to The Glenn Gould Foundation for an evening concert showcasing outstanding young Canadian artists. The audience included cabinet ministers, senators, arts, business and community leaders and members of The Glenn Gould Foundation Council of Fellows who were all brought together to support the next generation of creative Canadians.

The evening was a magical experience in a truly exquisite setting. Starting with a preconcert reception in the gardens accompanied by a Venezuelan folk trio, guests moved into the intimate concert hall for stunning performances of repertoire ranging from the baroque era to the 20th century.

Our featured musicians were Adrian Anantawan (violin), Ambur Braid (soprano), Christopher Enns (tenor), Daniel Hass (cello), and Alexander Seredenko (piano) with their collaborators Jeanie Chung (piano), Anne Larlee (piano) and special guest Charles Spearin (mandolin) from the band, Broken Social Scene.

The Glenn Gould Foundation is proud to embrace opportunities to advance the careers of young musicians and thanks Mr. and Mrs. Dan for their tremendous generosity.
