OTTAWA, Canada – The Glenn Gould Foundation is proud to present eight emerging musicians from Canada and abroad in an exclusive concert evening hosted by Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston entitled, “Young Artists Inspired by Glenn Gould.”
The concert is a tribute to the late Glenn Gould, one of Canada’s most iconic musicians and media artists of the 20th century. The evening’s performances will feature a program of Bach, Wagner, Strauss, Brahms, Beethoven, Mozart and Ravel, composers whose works Gould performed or arranged. The young artists taking the stage range in age from nine to 25 years old. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening is Andrew Craig of CBC Radio 2.
