Je sais que c&rsquo;est une question un peu stupide, mais je suis curieux ! <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: large;\">Ce n&rsquo;est pas du tout stupide &#8211; de nombreuses personnes se sont interrog\u00e9es \u00e0 juste titre sur cette excentricit\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: large;\">Pour m\u00e9moire, il est n\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Glenn\u00a0\u00bb et c&rsquo;est rest\u00e9 son pr\u00e9nom l\u00e9gal. Mais dans sa signature, d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but de sa vie, il a \u00e9crit indiff\u00e9remment \u00ab\u00a0Glenn\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Glen\u00a0\u00bb, et semble avoir utilis\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Glen\u00a0\u00bb plus fr\u00e9quemment dans les derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es de sa vie. (Lorsque j&rsquo;ai choisi un \u00e9chantillon de signature pour la couverture du magazine de la Fondation, en 1995, j&rsquo;ai s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 un sp\u00e9cimen tardif dans lequel le pr\u00e9nom est tr\u00e8s clairement mal orthographi\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Glen\u00a0\u00bb, juste pour faire le malin). En effet, il peut \u00eatre difficile de trouver un sp\u00e9cimen de sa signature dans lequel le double-N est clairement discernable.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Je ne saurais dire avec certitude pourquoi il en est ainsi. Peut-\u00eatre s&rsquo;agit-il encore une fois d&rsquo;une superstition inexplicable. Andrew Kazdin, producteur de longue date de Gould, a \u00e9crit dans ses m\u00e9moires de 1989    <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Glenn Gould au travail : Le mensonge cr\u00e9atif<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&rsquo;article \u00a0\u00bb Glenn Gould au travail \u00ab\u00a0, rapporte la justification de Gould pour avoir \u00e9crit \u00a0\u00bb Glen \u00a0\u00bb dans sa signature : Il avait d\u00e9couvert tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t qu&rsquo;une fois qu&rsquo;il commen\u00e7ait \u00e0 faire deux N, il \u00e9tait incapable de s&rsquo;arr\u00eater et finissait par \u00e9crire <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trois<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  N. Kazdin consid\u00e9rait cette explication comme absurde \u00ab\u00a0de la part de l&rsquo;homme qui pouvait jouer un flot ininterrompu de notes de trente secondes plus rapidement et plus proprement que n&rsquo;importe quel autre pianiste sur la surface de la terre\u00a0\u00bb. Et pourtant, il y a peut-\u00eatre quelque chose \u00e0 cela : Dans de nombreuses signatures o\u00f9 Gould semble tenter le double-N, le pr\u00e9nom se perd simplement dans de vagues gribouillis ouverts \u00e0 une interpr\u00e9tation sans fin &#8211; Glem, Glew, Glemn, Glern, Glerv, Glemm, et oui, m\u00eame le redoutable Glennn&#8230;  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glenngould.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Glennnn-1.jpg\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pourquoi la signature officielle de Glenn Gould ne comporte-t-elle qu&rsquo;un seul \u00ab\u00a0n\u00a0\u00bb ?
